yea Al Gore is an idiot. If you look at history, several years back there was a "Global Cooling" craze going, which is one reason why i don't believe it. The Earth goes through cycles. Sometimes it will be unusually hot, other times it will be unusually cold. Another is that scientists have said that the sun has been unusually hot the past couple of years. But does Al Gore want to think about that? No because then he would be wrong and God forbid that he would be wrong. Whatever i'm done with my rant on Al Gore.

to quote one of Redskins Runningback Clinton Portis' press conference characters, "Off the Grid, is off the chain." (and he's all dressed in green, like he's an environmentalist... except for the fact he's got a huge pipe in his mouth.)

Of course, Jason. Because its sin to harm our planet with as much as a gallon of gas, but its ok to destroy your body because you have freedom to do what you want to yourself. You just can't have freedom to do what you want with the world God gave us.
Poppycock. And yeah I concur Swil. While I think global warming is an actual problem... it's way overstated. I am not that worried about our planet "breaking" from it. Know whats a bigger issue? Acid Rain. And nobody even talks about that anymore. Democrats are morons. Sorry, big generalization but that's what I think when I ponder about that.

www.heritage.org/Press/Commentary/ed072508b.cfm Nuclear power. Apart from the arguments made in Metal Gear games, nuclear power has little drawbacks for a lot of power. And since the US can store potentially dangerous wastes inside a mountain, why is Congress balking so much at even discussing the option? Solar and wind are cool, I guess... except that they don't generate hardly any of the amount nuclear does. Environmentalists just dont want to back down since they gained prominence in the '70s. Even FRANCE is smarter than they are, they get 80% of their energy from nuclear and are exporting it for profit.

I totally agree with you about nuclear power, and it's very safe! I didn't even know MGS had stuff against it? I thought it was only nuclear weapons?

Of course nuclear energy is safe. Must i remind you that Homer Simpson works at the nuclear power plant, as a safety inspector! Argument over, definetly for nuclear energy. Al Gore just has his panties in a bundle because he is the only one who still thinks he invented the internet.

MGS wasn't against nuclear power, in MGS (first) they just say that a lot of nuclear power plants leave hazardous materials lying around, which terrorists use for weapons. However, since we have the yucca mountain option, they won't be able to get anywhere near the dump site. So unless terrorists hijack trucks going to dump the materials, all is good.
Even if we DONT get more nuclear plants, we'll still need yucca anyways. Come on, where are they currently dumping the used uranium? I'd rather it be in a mountain than in some stream or something. Who knows what happens to it currently.
Also I was surprised to know just how much nuclear power Japan, amongst other nations, uses, and that they have many more plants projected for the future. Japan is unique in that they are environmentalists, but not for the -insert expletive of your choice here- crazy reasons that the US counterparts have. They respect their land and nature, so they choose to take care of it, even at cost to their economy. Far as I know, there aren't too many laws prohibiting business for the environment's sake; it's all cultural. Yet, if they aren't afraid to use nuclear, why should we be? Evidently it satisfies their environmental protection needs.
