The Jedi have long labled the sith as evil, the jedi believe themselves to be protectors of the galaxy, pursuers of greater knowledge of the force, keepers of peace.These are but some of the labels that the jedi have given themselves through out the years.

The Sith have never hid their intentions for wanting greater power in this universe, power that the jedi have been nursing from for several millenias.
"What fuels your power for the force but your passion? The Stronger Darker emotions. Anger, hatred, fear... these passions empower us"- Yuthura Ban
"A Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight."- Yoda
The ways of the Jedi are what some would call legalistic in not allowing one self to feed off your emotions. Simply thinking by doing so you would fall to the lure of the dark side. While the sith believe that you truly only become powerful once you are able to feed off your emotions.

In the histories of the galaxy the jedi have always been the one to flourish in the vast wealth of the core worlds. While the sith struggle to exist in the dark bleakness of space known as the outer rim.
It is no secret that the sith have always fought for power. The power that the Jedi have undeservedly flaunted for many millenias. The Jedi see themselves as everything the sith can never be, making them seem to be the righteous path. While often they will paint the sith as foul, blood thirsty monsters. Which may be true, but it could be argued that the jedi made them this way by exiling the first fallen jedi.
