The Sith have been known for their treachery, despising weakness, notorious for killing each other for what little power there was to be gained this was the doom of the sith. This was their life for thousands of years. A simple cycle of treason, betrayal, murder, and paranoia; this way of thinking hindered the sith into ever being considered a true threat to the organized republic. The sith were more likely to turn on their comrades then their enemies and Tiberian knew this, Tiberian had to change this.
After dismantling the sith council in which Tiberian became sith lord, Tiberian would change the views and the philosophies of the sith. Tiberian took no time addressing his new followers speaking to them on the pillars in the center of the four sith lord tombs. In which he spoke of a new dawn for his sith, a better day for his followers and after he enforced a few new principles. He promised his sith that it would only be a matter of time until they were strong enough to fully engage the republic into war and come out victorius..
The Eleven Sith Principles under Tiberian
1. (Master and Apprentice)
For many millennias there was to be only one sith master and one apprentice. This had changed dramatically even before Tiberian’s rise to the throne and this rule was the first to be cast down under Tiberian's speech. Tiberian modeled his new sith after the Jedi’s, a Sith Master may take on an apprentice and after the apprentice proves his power, he would be granted the rank as master and soon be able to take on his own apprentice. With these rules sith numbers began to jump dramatically in the first seven years under Tiberian's rule.
2. (A Sith's craving for power)
Since the dawn of their time, sith have always craved more and more power. The sith under Tiberian were no different but instead of having them turn on one another or worse Tiberian. Instead Tiberian would give them special titles giving the sith a false sense of power but in reality Tiberian controlled the sith. Tiberian initiated somewhat of a council of the seven best sith all who had sworn loyalties to Tiberian secretly. Showing the other sith that there was a chance for moving up in ranks and this only influenced and drove at the sith to become better.
3. (Sith Force and Military)
Tiberian decided that it would be best to divide his sith into two branches, Force and Military. Both having different ranks and leaders, Tiberian was at the top in both followed by his four hand picked consoles. Two for the force and two for the military, then came under the Force users the Sith Council. Which followed with the sith masters and then the apprentices. At the bottom were Sith Knights, which was just another term for sith clones. Under military after the consoles there were the generals, commanders, and Admirals. Followed by other low ranking officers and then sith foot soldiers, which we will discuss deeper later. The two branches co existed very easily both having different checks and balances so that they were unable to go into the conflict with the other. Tiberian also picked many of the top sith in both branches to further make sure that they would not turn on one another or on Tiberian.
4. (Recruiting)
Tiberian knew that if all his fighters were force sensitive sith clones and followers they would be all limited to close range fighting making it easy for republic snipers and long ranged vehicles to pick them apart. So Tiberian began to recruit common people under his empire promising them a better life, a life of adventure a chance to see the galaxy. Tiberian recruited in outer rim territories where the republic had turned their back on them making it even easier for them to join Tiberian's following.
5. (Sith knights-'Sith Clones')
Before Tiberian became sith lord he found the blue prints and schematics that the empire had used in cloning their army. Soon after becoming Sith lord, Tiberian sent men through out the galaxy to begin to create these facilities. It took less then two years and Tiberian had over a dozen of them scattered through out his empire. And using state of the art age advancement, his men would mature more quickly and be ready to fight far earlier then the republic clones under Kamino. The mystery is who did Tiberian use, it is said that he used 12 different sith masters who were Marauders, assassins, and lords, all programmed to be loyal not to any sith lord but to Tiberian Coale and Tiberian alone. This helped Tiberian not to worry about a revolt, and he always closely monitored his facilities of any chance of betrayal by an eager scientist or an ambitious sith officer. Giving him the chance to swoop in to stop it before it would start and to plug one of his own loyal sith in.
6. (Treachery is the way of the Sith)
This is but one of the earliest codes of the sith, to turn on your masters when you see a chance to gain power. This became one of Tiberian's chief concerns and he was not willing to take chances. He installed a council that was utterly and fiercely loyal to him, and even with the council in place he constantly monitored them. Tiberian had insiders in his own ranks who would give him reports of their superior officers and if Tiberian thought that they were getting to ambitious he would cast them down and put someone in he could trust. That was one of the first things Tiberian did he hand picked officers, generals, admirals, who all swore loyalty to him and him. With this loyalty they would be rewarded with what ever their hearts desired. This kept the men happy and this kept Tiberian happy not needing to constantly look over his shoulder.
7. (Sith Satellites)
This was a branch of sith assassins and a term that Tiberian gave them. They served much like the Jedi watchmen do, they keep their eyes out for prospects of force users and when finding them they bring them to Korriban to begin their training. There were no rules in picking a child as long as they felt the force, they would be given the opportunity to train on Korriban. This philosophy was radically different with that of the Jedi’s who only trained young minds, with few exceptions.
8. (Sith Academy)
Once Tiberian became sith lord he quickly had a new academy on Korriban erected. To have these sith learn his new philosophies, they would also study history of both sith and Jedi to help them understand their opponents. Tiberian also erected another academy on Korriban for his new sith soldiers, they were taught military history of both republic and sith. They were constantly engaged with the sith knights to help prepare them against Jedi and in the end they proved to be a worthy match against force users. In the beginning of the academy’s history Tiberian chose Argon and Vala to be the headmasters knowing both were strictly loyal to him and thus stopping any chance of them to turn on him with the students. However after the war between the sith-republic started they were forced to abandon their posts to lead on the frontlines for Tiberian. Tiberian probably picked two loyal sith to him to take their places.
9. (Allies)
The sith have always served, fought, and died amongst other sith. This would change Tiberian made alliances with several warlords and mercenary groups to help strengthen their numbers and to provide both an edge and experience to his young sith army. Tiberian also made a pact with the SRA shortly before the battle of Corellia to catch the republic off-guard… they succeeded.
10. (Weakness)
One of the oldest laws of the sith was that you were trained to despise weakness and to eliminate it. If Tiberian's sith were to follow this law, they would dive back into another civil war and Tiberian would not allow this. Instead he made his most controversial but brilliant rule, 'We do not punish weakness, we correct it' and with this way of thinking. You would have his sith more united if they were constantly helping one another and strengthening each other. The bonds between his men would be an advantage every time they stepped into battle.
11. (Failure and Mercy)
Whoever who was in charge of the sith failure would never be tolerated. Who ever were to fail should be punished and punished severely to make them an example to the rest of your men. And to show mercy was to show weakness, Tiberian knew that if he were to kill every officer or commander who had failed he would be out of officers very quickly. And whatever officers he would assign would be constantly on edge knowing that one wrong move and they would be next. So Tiberian echoes the words of Tolerance and Patience, he didn’t want to rule his people in fear for fear would lead to uprising. He wished to rule his people with their loyalty and support or he would never have peace and stability. At this rule Tiberian was given the title ‘Tiberian the Tolerant.'
Aftermath (The Sith Cleansing)
The sith cleansing happened right after Tiberian announced his new rules and order. Many would not change their ways the ones that they rejected most were patience, mercy, and tolerance. This lead to a sith revolt in which Tiberian personally saw to the death of every sith who would refuse him. Ironically Tiberian did not give these sith a chance to convert. The Cleansing officially went on for a year, surprisingly sith records states that less then fifty were killed. It seemed many sith were willing to convert if it would mean success against the republic.
