It was a dark and peaceful night in Coruscant, the hums of the engines of busy space traffic echoed through out the night. The Chancellor Gora Pompe gave a speech on the HoloVids less then an hour ago about the recent conflict that the Republic found itself in with the SRA. Urging its citizens to remain calm that the Republic would end this simple battle before any real harm came to the important core world of Corellia.
Senator Quoll sat in his dark apartment complex; he was ignoring all messages from senators, friends, and families. He had just received Lennox Hierme's uplink and was pouring all of his attention into the Jedi Watchman's findings.
If this was a different night when Quoll was to be informed about this battle he would urge an emergency senate meeting to discuss this new threat and if that was denied. Then he would simply meet with several delegates to discuss possible responses. But of all nights of this attack to come, this was the one night in which Senator Quoll did not want to be disturbed.
Quoll was reading several letters from Republic Generals and Admirals dating back to the past seven years urging the senate to send men into Sith space to confirm that the sith are indeed gone. Quoll would read then every reply written by some snobby senatorial administrator who thought he had more then power then he actually did. Who would dismiss these reports and petitions as just a few aging generals looking for some last heroics before expiring in retirements.
The more Quoll read the angrier he became with the senate as well as democracy. The same democracy he has loved ever since he was a young boy, he realized that some things such as the senate are broke and no matter how many times you try to fix it, you cant; because a few selfish, power-hungry senators ruin the entire senate.
Quoll leaned back in his chair; his back was screaming in pain. He had been sitting down all night only getting up to go to the bathroom. His body was tired even though Quoll dismissed these notions of rest, he would tell himself that he could sleep after finishing Lennox's reports. However the more he read them, the more he realized the longer this would take.
Pouring himself a lavished glass of Denian ale, his apartment soon began shaking violently before stopping as soon as they started. Quoll thought this was quite odd, Quoll had been living in this apartment for almost five years. He loved this apartment it was affordable, reliable, and Quoll's favorite part it had a beautiful view of the senate building.
Dismissing the noise as a simple illusion that his mind had made because of his lack of rest. Then he heard loud sirens piercing Coruscant's peaceful night. He recognized these loud agonizing sirens, these were sirens that were to be used in an emergency.
Quoll then dropped his glass, it shattered upon his marble floor, and Denian ale stained his floors. Quoll realized that this type of siren was only to be played if Coruscant was ever to be... attacked.
Quoll quickly stumbled across his apartment ripping his blinds aside. And what he saw made his heart lunge into his gut, a handful of capitol ships had punctured the planet's space defenses and began to annihilate the cities defenses. Quoll though thought 'why would the SRA invade the capitol of the republic with only a handful of ships?' but then three shocking revelations came to Quoll.
These ships did not belong to the SRA but of the Sith recognizing their designs from Lennox's uplink. Secondly that the sith and the SRA were in fact allies but thirdly that the sith were here for one simple mission to cripple the republic’s core. Judging by the ship's directions they were going towards the senate building as well as the Jedi temple.
The Sith had returned and they were now in the heart of the republic uncheck, while the SRA was decimating another key planet for the Republic. Quoll's heart sank even deeper coming to his last realization. The Republic was now in a war with the Sith and the SRA and so far they looked to be loosing.
