Li-An Jinn's StealthX dropped out of hyperspace into the debris field that used to be Centerpoint station. He could see salvage crews all over the sector scavenging for scrap metal and any other usefull items they could find. Li came to a dead halt and began maually scanning the whole region for anything out of the ordinary. It's times like these when having a droid would've come in handy, he thought as he brought the scanning equipment online.
Hours passed as Li continued his search. He was starting to become frusterated and disheartened. He began to wonder if he had imagined the whole thing and was now on some wild bantha hunt, chasing phantoms. The stale air and close confines of the StealthX's cocpit was beginning to wear on Li. It had been a long time since he had spent this much time in a fighter. He was sweating now, longing for the fresh air and outdoors of his homeword. Li let himself slip into a Jedi trance to alleviate some of his claustrophobia.
All of the sudden his instrument panel lit up and began trilling a series of beeps and alarms. The computer had found something. Li snapped to attention and focused his equipment on what the scanners had uncovered. He pulled up the readout on his foreward display. The scanners had picked up a small energy signature. It was emanating from a group of asteroids on the outskirts of his search perameter. He powered up his engines and made his way to them.
As the asteroids loomed closer the energy signal became stronger. It was coming from the largest of the asteroids near the center of the cluster. Li circled it, searching for anything that could be giving off an energy signature. He had brought his fighter up under the belly of the asteroid when he saw it. There was what looked like a small hangar bay disguised as a cave cut into the surface. He manuevered his fighter into the cave and managed to land it inside the hangar. As soon as his struts hit the ground the room around him lit up and a forcefield activated to secure the hangar from the vacuum of space. His display indicated that the life-support systems in the facility were funtional, though just barely. He popped the canopy of his StealthX and was a bit suprised to find himself floating upward. The life-support may be functional, but their artificial gravity leaves something to be desired, Li joked to himself.
Li looked around and saw a small port in the far corner that lead further into the facility. He secured his ship then gave himself a little nudge in the force and floated his way to the door. Li made his way down a small hallway. The facility was in disrepair, it looked as if no one had been there in a very long time. From the look of things, Li decided that this place must have once been some king of monitoring station, used perhaps in conjunction with or to spy on the late Centerpoint station. All thought was lost as suddenly Li's danger sense began to go wild. It felt like someone had just poured a bucket of ice down his back. Red lights started flashing throughout the hallway and alarms began to sound.
AUTOMATIC DEFENSES ONLINE. A staticy computer voice announced. Li barely had time to launch himself sideways as a blaster bolts began shooting at him from hidden compartments within the walls. With a loud snap-hiss Li activated his lightsaber. The emerald blade sprang to life and bathed everything around him a cool green light. Li pushed off the wall with his feet, and with a little help from the force, he corkscrewed across the corridor, batting away blaster bolts as we went. He came to another wall and used the force to stick himself to it. He took aim with his blade and reflected the emanating lasers right back at their sources. The turrets errupted in a cacophany of sparks and fire. Though Li wasnt safe for long, 4 droidekas rolled through a hatch in the far wall and deployed themselves in an attack formation using magnetics to overcome the lack of gravity. The droids activated their sheilds and began firing at Li. He jumped out of the way, avoiding their deadly salvo. Flying through the air, Li extended his open hand gesturing to one of the destroyer droids. He closed his fist and the droid crunched as is being squeezed in a vice. Continuing to use the force, he picked up the dead and sparking droid and threw it at one of its companions. There was a loud smash as the two droids collided with each other.
Li came to another wall and kicked off into a backflip. Twisting in the air he managed to deflect more blaster bolts, knocking them harmlessly into the bulkhead. He came down right beside the two remaining droids and used the force to crimp the ends of their blaster arms, forcing the guns to backfire. The Droids exploded brilliantly and Li managed to launch himself out of the way though a door behind them.
