In the office of the sith lord was an audience of holograms all of whose eyes were at their master, commander, and their emperor. Tiberian sat complacently sat his desk, he has only been back in Coronet for a few hours, arriving from Myrenne and his stalemate duel with the jedi's best warrior Ayin Tsade.
But now Tiberian was not swirling his lightsaber or commanding the force for destructive means to destroy his foe, he was looking over far off battle reports, politician's speeches, civilian interviews, sith assignments. As the founder of this new sith empire Tiberian had to carry the burden of many positions and Tiberian thrived with the responsibility, no one was better then the sith master.
“Emperor Coale, the sith council has arrived” came a female voice over the intercom.
“I will be with them in a moment”
“Yes sir”
Tiberian looked up at all of the holograms who were all watching their emperor, “I thank all of you for the work that you have done, and for these reports, I will contact each of you at my earliest convenience”
None of the holograms spoke, they all nodded, before their appearance's faded away.
The doors of the sith emperor opened as a handful of cloaked individuals stepped into the sith lord's office, all of them bowing at the sight of the most supreme sith lord of them all.
“You men honor me with your presence” Tiberian said civilly standing up from behind his desk.
“Were we interrupting something?” asked the high sith council member Baorta.
“Just a meeting with some sith officers” answered Tiberian.
“Why were we not informed? The council has a right to sit on these meetings” remined Baorta.
The other sith council members sat quietly behind their council leader, nodding slightly, agreeing with Baorta.
Tiberian sat back down from behind his desk, keeping his eyes on Baorta. “Please forgive my arrogance, I forgot that I owed so much to the members of this council”
“You do not need to patronize us Lord Coale” replied a bold Baorta.
“And you should never lecture me” warned a stern Tiberian, his eyes narrowing onto Baorta's face. It was a frightening and an intimidating expression.
Baorta immediately looked away before sitting down with the other council members. “My apologies lord Coale”
“I will ponder your concerns though about your presence in my meetings” Tiberian said.
“That is all we ask” Baorta said with a bow of his head.
“Not according to this report” Tiberian replied typing up at his console.
“You received our concerns?” asked another sith council member his name was Carnian.
“Yes this is quite the list of complaints”
“Lord Coale, we are growing concern with some of the latest of your proposals. When we agreed to name you high sith lord-” began Carnian but he was interrupted.
Tiberian's sudden laughter caused the sith council member to stop. The confused sith council members traded confused expressions with one another while Tiberian continued to laugh.
“Excuse me, I am sorry but your comment amuses me. I did not need the council's permission to become high sith lord. I do not your approval to be the sith emperor. Please Carnian it is unwise to overstep your own interpretation of your powers and influence” corrected Tiberian.
“Lord Coale the greatest sith lords in the last two centuries have sat on the sith council. It has been the sith council that has been the leadership for our people in our return to prominence” spoke another sith council member. This was one of the sith historians, who was a twilek, his name was Qur-Xeng.
Tiberian smirked, thoroughly amused at the continued disillusion of his sith council members. “And if the esteemed sith council was still in charge, our people would be fighting amongst ourselves on that barren wasteland that you call home.
“Lord Coale this council is concerned that you are sacrificing our laws, our discipline, our way of life, just to gain the popular support from a few back water planets in this war” Baorta spoke respectively.
“Is that so?” asked Tiberian but he did not find this news surprising at all, he had been expecting as much from these legalistic fools.
“Lord Coale you are risking the foundation and the future of our proud people! We are imploring you to rethink your approach in diplomacy” Master Baorta finished his words, comfortable with both his tone and the words he chose.
“Does Master Baorta speak for all of you?” asked Tiberian, folding his arms onto his desk.
The sith council members hesitated but after a quick head nod from both Carnian and Qur-Xeng, the other three members nodded.
“Who bestowed upon you the power that you have? The privileges that you use to come to my presence and protest the laws that I created” Tiberian asked.
“In all respect my lord, we have some independent-”
“You have nothing that was given by me!” Tiberian said sternly, his jaw clenched, his eyes flashed dangerously over the other sith council members. It was clear that the sith lord had heard enough. “All of your rights were bestowed upon by me! The glory days your positions faded into oblivion when your forefathers abused their powers, starting a civil war. As long as I reign as the sith emperor, the sith council's powers will be checked by me. I have given you more then enough power and responsibility but if you cannot be thankful with my blessings, then perhaps you should rethink a new career path”
“We meant no harm or offense, my lord” apologized Baorta quickly bowing his head, as did the other sith council members.
“Remember my words Baorta, we are not equals. You are dismissed”
The sith council members stood from their seats, no one spoke, as they bowed their heads to the sith lord, beginning to file out.
“And if I were to choose between the sith council and the people of these 'backwater planets.' I would chose them” Tiberian finished.
Baorta forced himself to remain quiet and to politely smile, as he bowed to his master once more before leaving the emperor's office with the other council members.
