Lennox Hierme, tossed and turned in his uncomfortable jedi bed. His mind was replaying the chancellor's speech of how Corellia had been attacked by Robots. However Lennox and many other jedi were not foolish enough to believe that this was only a simple matter, and that would resolve itself. What ever this conflict was it was sending massive waves through the force. Letting Lennox believe that this could possibly be a sith plot. With this realization it seemed that Lennox would be unable to get any sleep, if the sith had in fact returned with a more powerful army.
There was a loud rapping at his door,Lennox groaned slowly climbing out of his bed. While yawning and stretching, he opened the door to see a very concerned and weary looking Danik Kargin. "Danik what is it?" asked Lennox but as these words poured out of his mouth, Danik pushed his way into Lennox's room as the door closed behind him. He lunged at Lennox wrapping his wrinkled and bony fingers around the Jedi watchmen and began to shake him.
“Lennox pack a small bag we are leaving shortly!” said the frantic Danik, confused Lennox obeyed packing a small bag of robes, datapads, and a commlink.
He looked up at Danik who was now waiting for him by the door, “come on kid we don’t have much time!” said Danik trying to sound patient.
“Please Danik just tell me?” asked Lennox.
Danik sighed and nodded, “you must listen to me Lennox! The sith were in on the invasion of Corellia!” cried Danik.
'Duh I know that! That’s what I tried to warn all of you about' thought Lennox but he decided not to say that. "What how do you know?" he asked leaving his small room; he draped his small bag to his shoulder. The two Jedi masters began walking through the Jedi temple corridors, Jedi were scurrying in all different directions. “What is going on Danik?” asked Lennox but Danik didn’t need to answer.
The sounds of emergency sirens filled the capitol’s night. "They have invaded!" cried Lennox in a tone of panic and disbelief. He pushed himself away from Danik to look out a nearby window. There he saw three Sith Capitol ships coming their way. "There invading the temple!" cried Lennox grabbing his saber from his belt but Danik grabbed his arm.
“Not just the temple, we have spotted the other ships heading towards the senate! I am on my way with several other Jedi masters to protect the Chancellor from what I believe will be the new sith lord.
“Then I will come with you!” urged Lennox. The two began walking even more quickly through the corridors arriving at the Jedi’s private deck.
"No Lennox! You must leave, you have a more important mission!" said Danik. Lennox looked at him in disbelief and shook his head.
"No Danik my place is here, I must protect the Republic!" he cried
"No! Do not worry about the temple; the temple is being barricaded as we speak. Do not worry about the senate; we will get there in time to save the chancellor. You must travel within the sith empire and you must learn all that there is to learn about their new lord. That is your mission! And with your findings I pray we will be able to find away to stop them!" said Danik.
Lennox stared at Danik, going through what Danik had just told him. Danik could see that Lennox was somewhat befuddled. "Listen to me kid! You were right; you and Ayin seemed to be right about many things! And now we are being punished for our arrogance! You must do this not just the Jedi but for me, this is the last request that I will ever give you" he said softly.
Lennox slowly nodded, "then I will go" he said it pained him to say these words but he knew that they were the words that needed to be said. A small smile forced itself on Danik's wrinkling face, as Danik led Lennox to a small shuttle. "I knew you would not fail! Report all your findings to Ayin! And only Ayin, do you understand?!" asked Danik. Lennox had just boarded the small shuttle. He looked up at Danik and slowly nodded. "Good, kid May the force be with you!" he said and with that the doors of the shuttle closed and Lennox had gotten his last glimpse of his former master and his friend.
